Oruya Universe

A sensitive approach to material

Oruya designs accessories through a deep attention to material, gesture, and durability.
Each piece is crafted from 100% baby alpaca wool, a natural fiber renowned for its softness, lightness, and longevity.
Craftsmanship plays a central role in the way Oruya develops its collections. A precise know-how, transmitted and respected, in the service of pieces designed to endure with elegance over time.

A living craftsmanship

Craftsmanship lies at the heart of Oruya’s approach.
Each piece is handmade using traditional looms and manual machines, following textile techniques adapted to each creation.
This know-how, passed down and practiced with care, allows time to be given to each gesture and preserves a reasoned production, far removed from mass manufacturing.

Baby alpaca wool

Oruya works exclusively with 100% baby alpaca wool, prized for its exceptional softness, lightness, and lasting quality.

Despite its name, baby alpaca wool does not come from young animals. It refers to the finest fibers, obtained from the first shearing or from the most delicate areas of the adult fleece, with full respect for animal welfare.

Traceability and commitment

The wool used by Oruya comes exclusively from the high plateaus of Bolivia.

It is collected, processed, dyed, and woven locally, within small-scale partner workshops, following a short supply chain approach.

Oruya pays particular attention to artisans’ working conditions, animal welfare, and responsible production, guided by quality and durability.

Dyeing and finishing

Colors are selected with care to preserve the richness of the fiber without altering its natural qualities.

The yarns are dyed using natural and certified dyes that meet strict standards, then carefully finished to ensure softness, structure, and lasting elegance.
